The Canadian Orthopaedic Foundation is pleased to announce that the Board of Directors has approved funding for the following research awards:
2021 Community Innovation Award:
Dr. James Higgins (Toronto, ON) for his research proposal entitled:
“A Dedicated Anesthesia Block Room Produces a Positive Return on Investment While Reducing Surgical Backlog When Implemented Using a Combination of Machine Learning, Discrete Event Simulation and Optimization Modelling”
2021 CSES Research Grant, in collaboration with the Canadian Shoulder and Elbow Society:
Dr. Jarret Woodmass (Winnipeg, MB) for his research proposal entitled:
“Randomized controlled trial comparing reverse total shoulder arthroplasty with and without subscapularis repair”
All applications were reviewed and ranked by the Foundation’s Research Review Panel.
