Canadian Orthopaedic Foundation Names New Executive Director

COF
Canadian Orthopaedic Foundation

The Canadian Orthopaedic Foundation is pleased to announce the appointment of Isla Horvath to the position of Executive Director. Ms. Horvath assumed her new role effective March 2, 2015.

Building on her previous charitable not-for-profit experience in strategic planning, budget preparation, fundraising, project management, policy development and communications, Ms. Horvath will continue to build on the Foundation’s renewed commitment to provide researchers and innovators the means to find new ways to even better treat Canadians, and to fund community-based programs that support patients and their caregivers. She will work with the Board, staff and volunteers to expand partnerships and advance national approaches that foster life-long bone and joint health in Canada within the framework of the Foundation’s Vision and Mission.

Dr. Geoffrey Johnston, President and Chair of the Foundation’s Board, says, “This is a crucial time in the Foundation’s history as we work harder to fund more research in orthopaedics, and to bring to life our mission: ‘To achieve excellence in bone and joint health, mobility and function for all Canadians through the advancement of research, education, and care.’ The Board is delighted with Ms. Horvath’s appointment and looks forward to working with her and the Foundation’s staff to enhance the health of Canadians.”

Established in 1965, the Canadian Orthopaedic Foundation is a registered Canadian charity dedicated to helping people to build, maintain, and restore their bone and joint health.
