As winter settles in this year, I think a common theme we all share is “I’m tired.” We see and feel it every day in the eyes and voices of our loved ones, friends, and colleagues. At the COF, we are striving to help those who are also coping with pain each day as they deal with the delays and challenges of our pandemic world. Your donations are providing for physical and emotional support to patients, families and caregivers as we pull together to help one another.
Yet there are so many reasons to be inspired and optimistic. Your support has funded the efforts of thousands of professionals and volunteers who are helping patients stay mobile and healthy while they wait for surgeries. Ortho Connect continues to be a lifeline, connecting those with questions and concerns with others who have experienced their struggle in a powerful, personal way. Fast Track Care is mobilizing Canadians to ensure that government provides the resources to deliver care as quickly and effectively as possible. Programs such as GLA:D are helping patients achieve pain-reduction of almost 30%. The incredible dedication, courage and spirit displayed by caregivers and patients every day during these difficult times is inspiring. Your support ensures all this care can continue.
While we strive to provide care, access and support to Canadians, your contribution funds the advancement of innovative research. In just one example, this year, your donations allowed the COF to provide a $30,000 grant to researchers who were in turn able to generate an additional $1,000,000 in funding to advance their work. Each day our world-class research community works tirelessly to lay the new foundations of the future of orthopaedic care.
Your support of the people behind the programs and the science has never been more critical or impactful. I know you and those you care about are tired. If you need help, reach out to us and if you can help, please do so by clicking here. Please share this message with those that you believe can help. Your support will continue to inspire all of us as we collectively strive to achieve pain-free mobility for all Canadians.
Thank you for giving.
